The January Transfer Window is set to close pretty soon, so we decided to take a look ahead and analyze the last set of deals that are the closest to being done.

Alex Teixeira to Liverpool looks set to soon become a done deal, as the two clubs have only been at a disagreement over a transfer fee for the player, Shakhtar pricing their prized asset at anything upwards of €50 million. But, Liverpool, having some sense, have made a bid of €32.5 million and seen it get rejected by the Ukrainian outfit.

The player has gone public about his desire to play in the Premier League, and more specifically, at Chelsea, but recently went on BBC to voice that he is hopeful that this deal goes through. Teixeira has also, according to the Express, left his training camp with Shakhtar, and what all of this means we can only guess. However, this deal should be done and dusted by Monday, when the transfer window slams shut.

Alexandre Pato has been holding out for a move back to Europe, and it seems he’s gotten his opportunity with Chelsea. What affirms this deal is the fact that the player himself said that he is thankful to Chelsea for giving him this opportunity and that this is a ‘dream’. Anyhow, the deal seems to have stalled a bit on the formalities section, as reports have suggested that Chelsea haven’t yet successfully agreed on a loan fee for the player with Corinthians. They are said to want a deal that will allow them to make it permanent, should they see fit, during the summer, however, it can be a complex situation to get through. Though the player is expected to be officially announced from now to sometime before Monday, he will most likely miss the game against MK Dons for the English Champions in the FA Cup.

Andriy Yarmolenko to Arsenal will certainly make Gunners’ fans happy. Arsenal have reportedly already agreed a ‘£23 million fee’ with Dynamo Kiev, but this deal makes no sense whatsoever as far as its occurrence during this window goes. Dynamo will not want to lose their key player when they are still in the run in the Champions League, and have a tough, but winnable, match against Man City coming up in the Round of 16. So, as far as agreements go, I would probably lean more on this deal occurring during the summer rather than before this window closes.

This deal is just one going with the wind, but Schalke defender Joel Matip has been linked with Liverpool again and again though the Express reports that Liverpool have yet to bid on the player. Given the injury list that the club currently has, and the lackluster situation in the back, it is more than likely that Jürgen Klopp makes a move for a defender in this window, and he will want to get the player that is, some say, his primary target in this position.

The remainder of the January transfer window is set to have moments of tension and surprise, as clubs go out and try to boost their squad and prepare it for the months to come. Stay tuned right here for daily updates on the biggest deals as they happen.
