This past weekend in the Premier League produced a total of 28 heart-bursting goals. The one game that did not produce any goals had an uncanny 37 shots attempted by Manchester United. But, even more importantly, it gave us a goalkeeping performance for the ages, courtesy of Tom Heaton, a goalie few knew even the name of before this past weekend.
United’s home game against Burnley was arguably the most eventful of all games that aired Saturday and Sunday, and mind you, we had some pretty wonderful footballing affairs with an abundant amount of goals. The “boring, boring” chants that inevitably rise within the opposition supporters whenever Mourinho is the man they’re faced with have truly gone past their expiration date.
Jose should instead be credited with giving us some of the best entertainment these past 15 months or so.

During the game on Saturday, the Portuguese duly went off after arguing with Mark Clattenburg about something (does anyone care?). One of his players, Ander Herrera, was sent off after receiving a second yellow card—and dare I say the decision was controversial. Zlatan missed sitters that even Olivier Giroud wouldn’t miss, as Gunners fans pointed out without so much as a second of delay; and Wayne Rooney remained an interesting, albeit very expensive, spectacle for the sore eyes.
A journalist’s dream. Though I’m pretty sure it wasn’t what Mourinho had planned when he woke up Saturday morning.
United are dropping points unnecessarily and to—no offense—opponents that they really should be winning comfortably against. Even amidst the self-created theatrics performed by their special one.
In other instances, City routed West Brom to prove that yes, Josep Guardiola may be a decent manager worth keeping after all. And boy did Agüero give us all a scare with that goalless run!

The Argentina striker was the FPL manager’s dream captain as he scored two thunderous goals and assisted one more. A timely boost ahead of the Citizens’ clash against the mighty Barcelona.
Chelsea won in similar yet markedly different fashion on Sunday, winning against Southampton through goals from Eden Hazard and Diego Costa. Conte’s men continue to impress, but how long will it continue?
